👉Professional Education and Career Path:
Professor Fahed Youssef began his impressive medical career in 1990, graduating from medical school in Damascus. Next Professor Youssef moved to the Royal Free Hospital in London, where he continued his surgical training, gaining extensive experience in general and hepatobiliary surgery. His passion and dedication to skill development led him to achieve the prestigious title of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2000.
👉Research Period and Further Development:
After obtaining his FRCS, Professor Youssef dedicated himself to research, culminating in the award of a Doctorate in Surgery from the University of London. In 2003, he joined the general surgery training rotation at South West Deanery, which enabled him to further refine his surgical skills.
👉Career Milestones:
In 2008, Professor Youssef successfully passed the FRCS (Gen Surgery) exam and was listed to the GMC Specialist Register after receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Surgery. His unwavering commitment to excellence and continued knowledge expansion led to his appointment as a consultant surgeon in the UK in 2009.
👉Clinical Experience:
In 2010, Professor Youssef undertook a fellowship at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, marking another significant step in his rapidly advancing career. In January 2012, he moved to the hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, where he took a particular interest in laparoscopic abdominal and abdominal wall surgery. He currently serves as the Clinical Lead in Emergency Surgery.
