Painless Ingrown Toenail Treatment, Nail Surgery, Ingrown toenail removal clinic London
We have 100% success rate - free from recurrences
A painful and very common foot condition, an ingrown toenail can be removed with the help of laser treatment. Though trimming the nail can temporarily relieve pain, a reoccurring ingrown toenail can be removed at the root with laser treatment even if the toenail becomes infected. Our Ingrown Toenail Surgery is minimally invasive, requires no cutting of the skin & no stitches.
Laser offers many advantages in clinical comparison to the conventional surgery:
… The procedure is more precise and minimally invasive …
… It is virtually painless …
… This also reduces healing time …
… It can be carried out even in the presence of acute infection …
… Very good effects – free from recurrences! …
Ingrown toenail treatment , ingrown toenail surgery
Ingrown toenail treatment depends on the specific diagnosis, the severity of the ingrown toenail and the type and severity of the infection
We can carry out permanent ingrown toenail with just one visit. The most effective and least invasive treatment of an ingrown toenail is laser correction using a gentle infrared beam and CO2 laser. The laser beam vaporizes only the ingrown part of the toenail and those growing cells. This laser correction prevents this part of the toenail to from growing back.
An ingrown toenail treatment occurs when part of the nail penetrates the skin. Ingrown toenail treatment often leads to infection. The ingrown toenail may apply pressure in the nail fold area.
Q: DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE
You will be given a local anaesthetic which will make your toe numb.
Once the toe is numb, the doctor will then remove part of the edge of nail – usually a millimetre or two. A chemical will be applied to destroy the exposed nail bed and normally ensures that the nail will not ingrow again.
A dressing will then be applied to the toe and you will be able to walk normally, although you are advised not to drive whilst the toe is numb.
It is advisable to bring loose fitting or open toed footwear with you on the day of the procedure.
Ideally avoid sport and strenuous use of the feet for the following week but time off work/school is seldom required.
Q: WHAT TO DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE OF INGROWN TOENAIL?
You will normally be advised to attend the clinic for a short appointment a few days after the procedure being carried out.
The dressing will require being changed on a daily basis at home and our doctor will discuss with you the most suitable arrangements to ensure that your wound receives appropriate care until it is healed.
It’s important that a surgeon doesn’t remove a toenail – it is totally unnecessary, even not recommended! The most important for the surgeon is to give the nail a proper shape after removing the changes, so the nail would later grow correctly.
Traditional surgery has its limitations during the period of exacerba-tion of this condition, when the process of suppuration is active, the preliminary conservative (non-surgical) treatment should be used), and only after the process of suppuration is over, surgical (radical) treatment may be used.
These barriers may be overcome by conducting a laser procedure, even if the toe is in the inflammatory state, even if it is infected, i.e. with staphylococcus bacteria. It is possible, because the ray of laser not only stops the bleeding and evaporates the infected tissue, but it also works as an antiseptic and antibacterial.
